"I've seen lots of heated discussions concerning legacy app/OS issues with regard to Internet security. I work in an electronics development and production environment where we use large measurement and robotic systems that are networked together. Some of them are over 30 years old, and many of them are running vintage Microsoft OS versions, which would be infected within seconds of being on the Internet. The solution industry-wide is to have an in-house frewall to prevent any of those production systems from ever being reached from the Internet. We have easy ways to internally push data back and forth to allow Internet communication of specific data, but there is no profitable way to have external access to those systems. I humbly suggest that the imaging, Video, and music production users of vintage Macs do the same thing." MacInTouch 10:10 AM
