  • "I have some shell scripts I use quite often to convert music formats, mainly FLAC to m4a for use on iOS devices. After updating to Mavericks, I found my tried and true script I have been using was not functioning at all. One of the components of the script uses XLD in command line form to convert audio files. It was this portion that was hanging. For some unknown reason the script was looking for WINE (emulation software). I finally tracked this down to a plugin in the application bundle. XLD command line is really just the XLD [graphical user interface] app, run with a special command switch. If you run into this problem you can just remove/disable the XLD.app/Contents/Plugins/XLDTakDecoder.bundle and your command line version of XLD will function again. FWIW the GUI function worked with no problems under Mavericks - it was just the command line version (and both versions are really the same binary, only executed with different command line switches)" MacInTouch 1:13 PM
  • "Album Artwork Assistant 3.2 appears to no longer work with iTunes 11.1.2. Selecting the songs and clicking 'Get Albums' at the top gives 'Fetching Tracks from iTunes' and a spinning wheel at the bottom, but no results. Any thoughts?" MacInTouch 1:13 PM
  • "After updating to Safari v6.1 in Mountain Lion...: I hate what Apple did to Bookmarks & History! The Bookmark tab makes it unusable for me, and I have to open up from the Menu Bar > Edit Bookmarks... as I do with Show History. And what happened to the Cover Flow for these? Does anyone know how to get back to the previous Bookmark & History management?!" MacInTouch 1:12 PM
