Siri is the master of funny and sarcastic responses but it appears the 'know-it-all' computer programme can also get a few things wrong too.

Apple’s intelligent personal assistant gives the wrong answer to a question about the deadline for registering to vote in the US election, Twitter users have claimed.

Mark Lerner, a graphic designer based in New York, noted the incorrect response when he asked Siri: “When is the last day to register to vote?”

Siri responds the deadline to vote has already gone, however Twitter users have noted the date is different depending on which state you live in.

United States citizens must be registered if they want to vote in the November 8 election, with some states allowing people to register online.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming election.

It was announced Siri was coming to Mac at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Users can search for local files, send messages, play music and search the web using Siri.

On stage, when asked how she likes being on a Mac Siri answered, "Lots of space, aluminium unibody walls. No complaints about the lack of Windows"

Apple unveiled a series of improvements to its Siri digital assistant at the conference. The biggest move was to open up the talking iPhone assistant to third-party developers for inclusion in their apps.

Apple has been contacted for a comment.
