For some time now, Apple has been preparing for the future by building a behemoth flying saucer in Cupertino.

And while we so far have no evidence to suggest this is actually a form of galactic transportation instead of a new office space, freshly released photos obtained by MacGeneration have given us our best look yet at what the tech giant will soon call home.

Taking up around 2.8 million square feet, the solar-powered campus will host 13,000 employees, with a 120,000-square-foot subterranean auditorium that can seat 1,000 also found elsewhere on the site.

Look at this thing, it's like twice as big as any surrounding neighbourhood.

Below is the interior of a 60,000-square-foot restaurant that will be able to hold around 2,800 employees. If you want to avoid epic food fights, though, there'll also be an outdoor eating space for around 4,000 employees.

And, look, it's green. Roughly 3,000 different trees will be planted on the campus before launch, though we imagine most of them will be, y'know, apple ones.

No wonder it's nicknamed the spaceship — just look at that sinister curved glass.

And if these photos weren't enough to quell your excitement for futuristic architecture, take a look at the drone footage captured earlier this month.

Hey, with an innovative home like this, maybe the folks at Apple can finally think to give us an iPhone with wireless charging?
