Steve Jobs' rise to fame in 90 seconds

In this video we take a look at American inventor and businessman Steve Jobs examining how he made his name in the business world and how much his companies were bought and sold for.

It was at the tender age of 21 that Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak began 'Apple Computer' company in the Jobs’ family garage. After just a day of trading in 1980, Apple’s market value hit $1.2 billion, over 30-years later, Apple has become one of the most recognised and profitable technology companies in the world despite the tragic death of Steve Jobs in October 2011.

This video is part of a series that charts the lives and careers of leaders in the technology sector, taking in their early successes, greatest defeats and the innovations that made them famous.

Future episodes in this series will take a closer look at the careers of other tech giants including Amazon chief Jeff Bezos and Internet entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg. Last week’s episode focused on American-born entrepreneur Tim Cook.
