Microsoft is one of the companies that made it to the so-called World’s Most Ethical Companies Honorees list, alongside other 123 firms from 19 countries and 52 industry sectors.

The research is made by a company called EthiSphere, and it involves analyzing a series of factors that are then used to determine corporate ethical culture.

For example, this analysis includes a review of social media, management interviews on culture, employee focus groups or interviews, physical site visits and assessment, plus questions regarding employee perceptions of ethical culture in HR engagement.

Although this could sound very complex at first, EthiSphere says it found out that American companies dominate the chart, with no less than 98 firms based in the United States out of the total 124.

Microsoft is one of the biggest technology companies in the chart, though rivals such as Google, Apple, Facebook, or Amazon are missing.

“The World’s Most Ethical Companies program honors companies that excel in three areas - promoting ethical business standards and practices internally, enabling managers and employees to make good choices, and shaping future industry standards by introducing tomorrow’s best practices today.

“Honorees have historically out-performed others financially, demonstrating the connection between good ethical practices and performance that’s valued in the marketplace,” a research preview reads.

Of course, Microsoft can’t be anything but pleased with these results, especially because this isn’t the first year when it makes the list, providing that it’s maintaining its ethical culture.
