- Rambus (RMBS +1.5%) says it's expanding last year's collaboration with Microsoft (MSFT +0.8%) on optimization of cryogenic memory.
- The two first began work on the project in December 2015 and have been pursuing improving energy efficiency for DRAM and logic operation at very low temperatures, under -292 degrees Fahrenheit (93.15 K, or -180 degrees Celsius).
- A breakthrough there would be ideal for high-performance supercomputers and the advent of "quantum computing."
