Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update may be slated for public release within a week

While the Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update made its way into the Release Preview ring just under a week ago and, to add insult to injury, only for a list of 13 devices in total, despite a contrary Feedback Hub announcement from Microsoft.

While news of precise timing of the update's release remained scarce, Dona Sarkar followed up with a tweet regarding the public rollout, and said:

However, despite the official announcement, it appears that very few have actually received the update on their devices.

Now, it appears that Italian website, Aggiornamenti Lumia, managed to download and install Windows 10 Mobile build 15063.296, which is an increment of 45 points higher compared to build 15063.251 which was released to Insiders at towards the end of April.

It remains unclear as to how the alleged public build was obtained or if the build had been offered to the Lumia 640 by accident by Microsoft's update servers. However, it has led to the belief that Microsoft will release the Creators Update for compatible devices this coming Patch Tuesday, being May 9th, while all other devices will instead receive a new cumulative update for the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update.

Whether or not the above holds true remains to be seen but if you aren't too keen on being left behind, you can always install the Creators Update for Windows 10 Mobile on unsupported phones. However, Microsoft has made it very clear that "unsupported is unsupported" so proceed at your own risk.
