Microsoft Updates the Shipping Versions of Windows 10

It’s Patch Tuesday, so Microsoft has delivered cumulative updates for all of the shipping versions of Windows 10.

And, yes, in keeping with the software giant’s new support policy for Windows 10, today’s cumulative update is the last that it will ship for Windows 10 version 1507, the first Windows 10 release.

Here’s what changed in the update going out to those on Windows 10 version 1703, also called the Creators Update.

 • Addressed issue with Surface Hub devices waking from sleep approximately every four minutes after the first two hours.
 • Addressed issue where autochk.exe can randomly skip drive checks and not fix corruptions, which may lead to data loss.
 • Addressed an issue where Microsoft Edge users in networking environments that do not fully support the TCP Fast Open standard may have problems connecting to some websites. Users can re-enable TCP Fast Open in about:flags.
 • Addressed issues with Arc Touch mouse Bluetooth connectivity. Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows SMB Server, Windows COM, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows kernel, Windows Server, and the .NET Framework.

Check the Windows 10 update history website for more information.

Paul, the "Check the Windows 10 update history" link has a trailing single-quote in it so the link doesn't work.

I'm at the point where I almost dread additional Windows 10 updates, because both IE and Edge performance has gotten consecutively worse after each of the last several updates. Internet Explorer is now almost unusable because it loads pages so slowly that it actually locks up for about a minute or more before I'm able to scroll up or down or click on any links, and Edge is beginning to suffer from frequent freeze ups as well. It's like this on all of my computers (two desktops, a laptop, and a tablet) and my wife's laptop, so yesterday after installing this latest update, I downloaded and installed Chrome, which is incredibly fast in comparison, and it hasn't frozen up on me yet. I never thought I'd ever say I use Chrome over either IE or Edge (I really don't like or trust anything from Google), but it looks like that's what it's coming to.
