Microsoft has started the first Bug Bash for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, asking users participating in the Windows Insider program to try out and send feedback on a series of new features, all of them projected to debut in the upcoming OS update.

The new Bug Bash program runs from May 15 to May 21, and insiders running build 16193 on PC and 15213 on Mobile can all participate.

Microsoft says that the focus should be on the new My People experience, on the PDF Reader options in Microsoft Edge, and on the Story Remix tool integrated into the Photos app. Story Remix is one of the biggest improvements coming in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and it was presented by Microsoft at the Build developer conference last week.

Try out the new Fluent Design

There are also a number of features that Microsoft is particularly interested in, including the Magnifier Settings page, the new Cortana Settings app, the Windows Defender Application Guard, and the VM reverting features.

Of course, Fluent Design is also a key part of this Bug Bash, and Microsoft wants to hear from insiders who try out the Photos app, Groove Music, Movies & TV, Calculator, Maps, and People to find out if the new look is good enough or it still needs some improvements.

A series of quests will be added as the Bug Bash advances, and Microsoft says it’ll hold two webcasts on May 18 at 10 AM and 5 PM Pacific Time.

This is the very first Bug Bash that Microsoft starts as part of the Windows Insider program for the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, which is projected to launch in September for all users. Other bug hunting programs are likely to be announced as work on the new OS update advances, and it’s critical for the company to have a growing number of insiders participating and sending feedback.
