Lenovo Moto X4 leaks, features dual rear cameras and water resistance

We got the first sign that Lenovo was planning a new entry to the Moto X line, in November of last year. Since then, leaks and renders of the device, often referred to as Moto X 2017, have continued to surface. Purported specs of the device were also leaked recently, but according to serial leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks), many of those speculations were wrong.

According to the new leaks, the device will be branded as the Moto X4 and will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD display, it will be made of aluminum and come with Android 7.1 Nougat onboard. The X4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chip (eight cores all running at 2.2GHz) and will have 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage at its maxed-out memory configuration. The battery will reportedly pack a 3,000mAh capacity. Featuring IP68 certification, the device will also have dust and water resistance.

Lenovo is focusing heavily on the new device’s imaging capabilities, arming it with dual 8 and 12-megapixel rear cameras, along with a 16-megapixel selfie camera up front. A fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button will also recognize simple gestures. In addition, the Moto X4 will be capable of operating on Google’s Fi MVNO, giving it the ability to seamlessly hop between Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular networks, making it the first handset outside of Google’s own branded devices to be able to do so.
