Enjoy Street Fighter games? If you’re even the slightest fan of the fighting game genre, then the answer is that of course you do!

With that in mind, you’ll want to check out Capcom’s Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition, a mobile port of the well-received 2011 game for Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. And you know what? It’s pretty darn great!

Street Fighter is back

This isn’t the first time that Capcom has released a Street Fighter game for iOS, although it’s definitely a long-awaited game, given that Capcom has long since forgotten about updating 2010’s Street Fighter IV. (Note: it’s been around three years!)

The big updates you get here is support for MFi controllers, support for larger displays (perfect for your brand new iPad Pro!), improved visuals, and an additional three characters to play with — with six more promised for updates somewhere down the line.

Even if you don’t have a standalone MFi controller, the virtual controls function surprisingly well, giving you a Street Fighter experience that doesn’t feel massively watered-down.

If you’ve got Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition for another platform, you may want to give this a miss. If you haven’t, however, and if you’re on the fence wondering if this $4.99 download is worth the money, we’d suggest that you absolutely go for it!
