Apple Leather Sleeve for 10.5in iPad Pro
Apple’s Leather Sleeve for the 10.5in iPad Pro is designed for those who don’t want the keyboard case but make use of the Apple Pencil.
(If you’re after a case for the new 10.5in iPad Air see our dedicated round up)
It’s beautiful, with a lovely feel, quality stitching and a secure slot to store the otherwise highly lose-able Pencil, but it is undoubtedly expensive. It’s available in a few colours including black, blue, brown, taupe and (PRODUCT)RED.
Pick it up directly from Apple for £129/ US$129, or from Amazon where it’s available for as low as £53/ US$59.99.
Otterbox Defender for 10.5in iPad Pro
Its hard to have a cases round up of any sorts without mention of Otterbox. The brand produces high quality and sturdy cases that can withstand the harshest of drops and jolts. The Defender Series is no exception.
The case converts into a stand for both portrait or landscape viewing and there’s a holder for the Apple Pencil. Drop and dust protection aside, it also comes with a built-in screen protector.
It’s available directly from Otterbox (£79.99/$89.95) or on Amazon (where prices are likely to be cheaper) and includes a lifetime warranty.
Ztoptop iPad Pro 10.5 Leather Folio
Here’s a folio option that has a classy fabric and faux leather finish. Like many folio cases, this one offers the auto-wake and sleep feature upon opening and closing too. The case also transforms to a stand which you can adjust to varying heights.
Aside from this, there’s a loop to hold the stylus on the side and a pocket to stow away additional papers and notes. It’s a great option considering it’s £13.99/ US$20.99 – it also comes in a variety of colours.
JETech Case Cover for iPad Pro 10.5in
Apple’s case is lovely, but there are plenty of alternatives that don’t have to break the bank. You will sacrifice some build quality, but if you’re looking for cheap and cheerful protection for your iPad Pro 10.5in then a case like this one from JETech should do the trick.
It can be used as a stand and offers screen and rear casing protection for the iPad. Not bad for around £10/ $10.
Apple Leather Smart Cover for 10.5in iPad Pro
If it’s a more traditional screen cover you’re after, this official Apple leather smart cover could be for you. Attaching magnetically to the left portrait side of the iPad, it auto wakes and snoozes the screen.
The familiar folding design allows for a triangular stand for video viewing or for raising off a surface to type or draw onto.
Pick it up directly from Apple for £75/U$69. It’s also available for the 12.9in iPad Pro model.
Apple Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro 11in
Apple’s official Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro adds a physical keyboard to the already powerful tablet to make it one step closer to being a true laptop replacement. It can also be used as a stand or a screen cover when it is not performing its primary role as a keyboard case.
We recommend trying out the keys in a store if possible before you buy though. This is because the keys do not have normal travel, they are quite mushy as the case is coated with a wipe-clean material to keep it slim and durable.
There are alternatives such as the one listed below, but you know with Apple that it’ll work flawlessly (we tested it; it does). Make sure you choose between British and US English layouts to suit your needs.
Available directly from Apple for £159/$159, or from Amazon.
The 12.9in iPad Pro keyboard can be found here (£169/ US$169).
Logitech Slim Combo for 10.5in iPad Pro
There’s a distinct whiff of the Microsoft Surface Pro about this keyboard case from Logitech, as it uses an adjustable kickstand to keep the tablet in writing mode.
It’s bulkier than the Apple alternative but it’s cheaper (by some way) and has backlit keys. For many people, it’s preferable to the official version. It also offers full protection; Apple’s leaves the rear uncovered.
As with Apple’s keyboard case, be sure to pick the correct country keyboard layout for your region.
Pick it up from Logitech for £109/ $129.99 or from Amazon for £82/ US$80.
ProCase stand case for iPad Pro 10.5in
If you miss Apple’s all over Smart Cover then this is a good replacement. A single piece of material that covers the front and rear of the iPad when not in use, while the magnetic cover sleeps and wakes the iPad just likes Apple’s cases do.
Use it as a stand for video watching or as a lift to type or draw onto the screen. It has full access to ports and the frosted back even allows the Apple logo on the iPad to shine through.
It’s really cheap, too, at £12.99/$11.99.
Harber London Nomad Organiser for iPad Pro 10.5
This next option is definitely a luxury that not everyone will want to cough up the cash for, but we fell in love with it when it landed on our desk.
At £249/$327 (with free worldwide shipping), it’s certainly not cheap, but there’s no doubt that it is incredibly high quality and stylish. It can be used as an all-encompassing organiser, with space for your iPad in addition to clips and pockets for your phone, cards, pens, cables, keys, Apple Pencil, receipts and more.
For most people, it’ll be enough to completely replace your bag, complete with a carry strap that can transform it into a backpack or messenger bag.
It’s available in Tan, Black, Deep Brown or Navy, and fits the iPad Pro 10.5 or the 9.7in iPad. You can buy it from Harber London or from Amazon.
ESR Screen Protector
Although technically not a case, this screen protector will provide much of the security of the case while adding next to no bulk.
The tempered glass protector provides triple strength, with manufacturer ESR claiming it has undergone 6 hours of ‘tempering reinforcement’. All this means you won’t have to worry about dropping your new iPad, as this will absorb much of the impact.
Installation will be familiar to anyone who has applied a screen protector in the past, and the turquoise design will help your device stand out from the crowd.
Pick it up directly from ESR (£10.99/ US$8.99) or from Amazon (£8.99/US$9.99).
