The new update adds support for Windows 10 Creators Update

AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its FirePro/Radeon Pro Graphics driver, namely the 17.8 Beta package, which implements support for Maxon Cinema 4D R19 Beta., Windows 10 Creators Update, 8K resolutions, and Dell High Dynamic Range (HDR) displays.

In addition to that, the producer adds compatibility with Radeon Pro ReLive, LiquidVR, DirectX 12, Vulkan, and Windows 10 Device Guard features that improve the system’s overall performance, stability, and usability.

Moreover, the current update also fixes the external monitor auto switch issue, improves audio output compatibility (for 8K panels with WX7100), adds VR support for VRED, and implements a few other features highlighted in the Release Notes below.

However, AMD’s release might still experience occasional low frame lock (lower than expected frame rates), as well as improper behavior in MGPU single-large-screen with Windows 10.

In terms of compatibility, besides a supported GPU, take into account that your configuration must be running a 32- or 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems (Windows 8.1 32-bit is no longer supported),

Therefore, remove any previous version present on your computer, save and run the appropriate package for your system, wait for all files required to be made available, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

With this in mind, if you consider applying this release, download AMD FirePro/Radeon Pro Graphics Driver 17.8 Beta, install it and perform a reboot once finished. Also, check back with us to stay “updated one minute ago.”
