Apple has announced that Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives, a documentary chronicling the career of the legendary music executive behind a wide range of iconic artists, will arrive on Apple Music October 3.

Check out Apple’s newly-released trailer below:

Rather than produce the movie itself, Apple acquired The Soundtrack of Our Lives following its screening earlier this year at the opening night screening at the Tribeca Film Festival. The documentary is directed by Chris Perkel, and produced by Scott Free, the company co-founded by Ridley Scott — who, incidentally, also directed the iconic “1984” Macintosh commercial.

At the time of the acquisition, Clive Davis said that, “Apple is a global innovator that has revolutionized the distribution of music. It is a touching honor to share the music and unique stories that have shaped my career with millions of Apple Music subscribers around the world. I am overjoyed to work with them to continue this incredible journey!”

Previously, Apple has acquired documentaries about the iconic Roland TR-808 drum machine and popular hip-hop record label Cash Money Records.

Recently, it was reported that Apple will spend an estimated $1 billion on acquiring or producing original content over the next year. In addition to documentaries, this will also include a number of original drama series, which Apple hopes will rival the likes of HBO’s Game of Thrones in scope.

With Netflix, Amazon and, now, Hulu being among the tech companies to have experienced Hollywood success, Apple is keen to catch up. If a documentary like Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives could prove to be an award-winner for Apple, that would certainly help.
