Apple’s iOS 11 comes out today (Tuesday September 19) bringing with it a host of new features for iPhone and iPad users.

However, as with all major iOS updates, some apps will stop working once you upgrade.

With iOS 11 it will be older 32-bit apps, which could include some of the first games you downloaded onto your phone or iPad, that will no longer work, unless they receive an update.

To see which apps won’t work on your iPhone or iPad go to Settings, then hit General, and then Applications.

Any apps affected will show up in a list. If you can’t see any names it means none of your apps will be affected.

Developers have been warning other iPhone and iPad users on Twitter to check after they lost some of their apps once they updated.

The iOS 11 update, which will be available for download in the UK from the evening of September 19, is introducing a number of significant new features.

Among the most noticeable will be a redesigned control centre, the ability to screen record, and later the ability to make payments to friends in iMessage via Apple Pay.

iOS 11 is also introducing a Do Not Disturb while Driving mode, which is aimed at removing the temptation for motorists to look at their iPhone when behind the wheel.
