If you've yet to upgrade to an iPhone 7 or higher, you'll know all about the problem of space.

Download an app or shoot a quick video and you've got no storage left for any pictures. There you are, trying to Instagram your dinner... but no. 'Cannot take photo' arrives.

There's housework to be done with phones. To free up space, using services such as Google Photos allows you to store everything on a cloud (a simple automatic upload each day), freeing up memory for other things.

And, of course, deleting old images that you don't need – when there's time.

But what if you haven't got round to it in the last week, and find yourself witnessing something bizarre, or funny, or breathtaking. What if you see a penguin shouting at a bus, but are unable to document it? No Facebook shares for you.

There's a very quick and easy way to get round this, without having to delete anything. You might know, but if not, you're definitely find it useful.

Just open up Instagram, select camera, and shoot. Then save the screenshot. It's there. It's right there. You can do this more than once.
