How to view all photos, sketches and documents stored in your Notes app

The Notes app allows users to take quick notes, make checklists, create sketches, and even store photos and documents. However, finding and organizing all of these stored items can be a bit challenging.

In this article, we will explore how to view all photos, sketches, and documents stored in your Notes app, making it easier to find and access your important information.

Find notes with drawings, scans, and attachments

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Notes app and make sure you’re inside a folder. If not, go to the folders screen and select All iCloud or a folder.
  2. Tap the search box. If you don’t see it, pull down the All iCloud or selected folder screen to reveal the search box at the top.
  3. Select Notes with Drawings, Notes with Scanned Documents, or Notes with Attachments.
  4. The Notes app will immediately list all notes that fit the selected parameter. Tap a note to jump right into it.

Note: If you have enabled a local On My iPhone account (Settings app > Notes > “On My iPhone” Account), then you can also use the All Accounts and Current Account button from the top. All Accounts will list notes from iCloud as well as On My iPhone, whereas Current Account will only show appropriate notes from the selected account.

On Mac

  1. Open the Notes app.
  2. Click the search box from the top right.
  3. Select Notes with Drawings, Notes with Scanned Documents, or Notes with Attachments.
  4. Tip: You can drag media like photos from a note and drop it to the desktop or any other app.
