Amazon Video Announces New TV Shows And Movies For February [UPDATED]

Following
This article is more than 6 years old.

[UPDATE - Since first publishing this article, Amazon has added some significant extra titles to its February offering. These are: Disney's Coco; Justice League; Paul Haggis's Crash; solid Western 3:10 To Yuma; Steel Magnolias; Man On A Ledge; Legends Of The Fall (proud owner of one of the worst sex scenes ever filmed); Click; 50/50; 50 First Dates; and the second season of The A Word. I've added these into the original story which appears below.]

Amazon has released details of its new TV shows and films for February 2018 - and the theme this month appears to be quality over quantity. For while there aren’t as many new additions as we typically see from Amazon each month, there’s a strong mix of old classics and acclaimed modern movies in there - as well as a healthy roster of promising new Amazon Original TV shows.

On the movie side, February will give you your first opportunity to see (outside of cinemas) Oscar favorites Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Disney's Coco. Fans of classic Westerns will be able to indulge in Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood’s magnificent The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. Crime enthusiasts have Michael Mann’s outstanding serial killer thriller Manhunter to look forward to.

Romance lovers have An Officer and A Gentleman, and sci-fi devotees have 2009’s Star Trek reboot arriving towards the end of the month. Quality weepies are represented by Terms of Endearment, and there's even 1975's Rollerball to keep fans of brutal sports entertained.

If superheroes are your thing, meanwhile, both Wonder Woman and Spider-Man: Homecoming make their debuts on Amazon Channels.

Finally, if British comedy is your bag, 1980s classic A Fish Called Wanda is set to turn up on Amazon Prime TV on February 1st.

On the TV front, the new Amazon Originals for February include the second part of season one of The Tick, the fourth season of award winning drama Mozart In The Jungle, and promising new documentary series GRAND PRIX Driver.

All of the Amazon Original content this month (highlighted with an asterisk) appears in HDR and 4K.
