14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just released a new build as part of the Windows Insider program, and it includes a plethora of new features that are expected to be included in the final Redstone 4 update this spring.
Windows 10 build 17093 is available for the Fast and the Skip Ahead rings, and it comes with big changes in several areas, like Game bar refinements such as dark and light themes, new controls on the bar, and easier access to settings.
Additionally, this is the first build that allows users to delete the diagnostic data collected by Microsoft, and this option is expected to be an essential part of the final Redstone 4 update, as the company wants to improve the privacy Windows 10 offers to users.
There are also graphics improvements, with HDR video access expanded to more users, but also with new settings in Settings > System > Display for multi-GPU systems.
Windows Defender and Microsoft Edge refinements
Windows 10 build 17093 introduces Microsoft Authenticator app support for Windows 10 S, meaning that you can now log in and use the Microsoft Store-restricted operating system without entering your password and only by granting access from your smartphone.
Windows Defender has also received some refinements, like the Settings section renamed to Windows Security, but also with new pages in the app called Account Protection and Device Security.
Microsoft Edge benefits from improved full screen with easy access to the address bar and refined printing, while the Windows Subsystem for Linux is more configurable with wsl.conf and offers better file handling via folder level case sensitivity.
