Microsoft Surface Pro Receives $200 Price Cut To Celebrate Its 5th Birthday
In honor of the Windows 10 tablet's fifth birthday, Microsoft is cutting $200 off the price of all Surface Pro models over President’s Day weekend (February 17th through 19th). The offer will be available at the Microsoft Store (both online, as well as brick and mortar) along with select authorized retailers like Best Buy.
"With each generation and each new product, this team has continued to evolve and innovate, expanding on our original vision to grow with what our customers want and need," writes Surface hardware chief Panos Panay. "Products are a reflection of the people that make them and the people that use them. In the last five years, Surface has become known for thin, light, powerful devices, with insane battery power and they’re only going to get better from here."
The current Surface Pro is powered by either Intel Core m3 or 7th generation Intel Core i5/Core i7 processors (Kaby Lake). The tablet is dominated by a 12.3-inch PixelSense Display with a resolution of 2736x1824. Up to 16GB of RAM can be configured, while storage options include 128GB, 256GB, 5123GB or 1TB SSDs. On the battery life front, the Surface Pro delivers up to 13.5 hours of runtime, which is 50 percent greater than the Surface Pro 4.
In addition to the Surface Pro, the Surface family has grown over the years to include the current generation Surface Laptop, Surface Book 2 and Surface Studio. There are also rumors of an upcoming Surface Phone, but we’ll have to wait and see when it comes to that device…
