The Mooseman, a beautifully evocative 2D adventure game, is coming to iOS next month.

Having launched on Steam last year, the game is already a proven winner with players. Boasting a gorgeous wintry palette and plenty of Russian lore thrown in for good measure, The Mooseman puts you in control of a mystical character with the ability to see beyond the physical world. Check out the trailer below.

The Mooseman joins a number of visually stunning games available for iOS. This includes everything from the stunning Monument Valley and its sequel to the equally ethereal Flower.

Like those games, this one doesn’t appear to be a particularly long title in terms of running time. Players should be able to complete it in just a couple of hours. Still, a good game will stay with you for much longer than the time you actually spend completing it — and that certainly appears to be the case with The Mooseman.

What makes it sound especially intriguing is the fact that its mythology is seemingly based on real Russian folklore, thereby giving you a more authentic gaming experience.

It’ll be available to download on the App Store starting next week. The Mooseman is a free download, although you’ll have to shell out $2.99 as a one-off in-app purchase to unlock all of the levels.

Have you played this on Steam? If so, what do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
