Apple News is getting some fresh competition today from it’s biggest rival in Silicon Valley today.
Google launched its new Google News app this afternoon that was revealed at Google I/O last week. The updated app brings an all-new UI that’s supposed to give you a faster, smarter briefing on the top news stories going on right now.
iPhone and iPad users can download the Google News app directly from the App Store today for free. Google says its aim with the new design is to make the news easier and less biased.
The updated app comes with a new section called Full Coverage that gives readers a more complete picture of a story. It takes information from a whole bunch of sources to provide you with everything you need to know.
Tweets, opinions, analysis, and comments are curated into a big bundle of content related to whatever big news story you’re looking at. All served up in the Google News app.
Google News presents stories so that you don’t have to search for more information. Headlines tell you exactly what’s happened, while a timeline helps you keep track of developments since the news broke.
Everyone sees the same content when they use Full Coverage. It isn’t personalized, so you don’t miss out on anything that Google thinks you might not want to see.
