Surface Pro gets updated with reliability improvements

Microsoft today released a firmware update for its Surface Pro tablet, the first that the device has received since March 15. The new update is available for all Surface Pro models, including Wi-Fi only and cellular variants, and including all versions of Windows 10.

The update improves system stability. Here's the full changelog:

Windows Update History Name

Device Manager Name

Intel - system – 8.2.11004.3973

Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Processor Participant

  • 8.3.10207.5567 improves system stability.

Oddly, the update is listed three times in the same chart, with the same version numbers and names. According to Microsoft's Value Indicator chart, this update improved reliability with no effect on security, connectivity, compatibility, performance, or battery life.

Obviously, this has nothing to do with issues that may have come from the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, as many devices are receiving new firmware to improve compatibility with the feature update. If that were the case here, this update would be specific to Windows 10 version 1803.

If you want to manually install the update, you can find the Drivers and Firmware bundle here. If not, you can just head over to Windows Update.
