Cisco: Juniper Exec To Run Server Access Group; 3 Others Ousted

Cisco Systems on Thursday named David Yen to run the company's server access and virtualization technology group, which includes the company's Unified Computing System and Nexus server access data center switching group. Cisco noted that the Unifed Computing System group in the latest quarter had an annualized revenue run rate of $650 million.

Yen had been executive VP and general manager of Juniper's fabric and switching business group. He previously spent 20 years at Sun Microsystems.

Yen succeeds the triumvirate of Mario Mazzola, Prem Jain and Luca Cafiero, the founders of Nuova Systems, whose acquisition by Cisco in 2008 led to the creation of the server access group. All three will continues as senior technical advisers to CEO John Chambers.
