BiKN wireless leash system for iOS now shipping


BiKN (pronounced beacon) is an interesting leach system for the iPhone. Users can connect up 8 physical tags to item, which then sync to an iPhone and case/receiver. The tags show approximate location of the attached item, and also can trigger an alert to help find them. As a leach, an alarm will sound once a tagged item leaves the immediate area. The receiver is iPhone case that included a battery backup to help with the battery drain of running the app.

The system works with an in-door range of about 50-100 feet and about up to 500 feet outdoors. The retail package included the case and one tag for $100, or the case and two tags for $120. Additional tags are $50 for two.
