Wacom tablet goes multi-touch with Intuous5

Wacom has announced the Intous5, a new line of multi-touch input tablets for Mac and Windows. The pads still function similar to previous tablets, using a pen for drawing and computer commands. The Intous5, however, adds multi-touch controls and gestures. Users will be able to pinch, zoom, scroll, pan, and rotate content with their fingers, in addition to the more conventional pen controls. Gestures can also be customized for commonly used Photoshop commands, Wacom says.

The tablet also features the Grip Pen, which offers 2048 levels of pressure and up to a 60-degree tilt. An optional wireless kit allows users to work sans wires.

The Intuos5 is available in 5 sizes starting today. Small for $229.95, Medium for $349.95, and Large for $469.95.
