Apple Inc. has announced it will build a new campus in Texas, a $304 million investment that will add 3,600 jobs over the next decade.

Apple currently employs thousands in Austin to handle customer complaints and support, but an expansion could more than double its workforce in the city. Operations in Austin have grown drastically over the past decade from less than 1,000 in 2004 to more than 3,500 in 2012. The consumer device giant is planning on adding jobs in customer support, sales, and accounting.

According to Texan Governor Rick Perry, the company is receiving an investment of $21 million over 10 years from a state fund and may also receive incentives from the city of Austin and Travis County.
