Does This Game Have What It Takes To Propel Itself To The Top Of The Charts?

It's not like we're in need of another Jetpack Joyride clone, right? But Propeller Dog: Attack of the Evil Squirrels, which borrows more than a few tricks from said highly popular iOS game, looks like fun. I mean, evil squirrels attacking a propeller dog. Why not? Plus, it's free — yep, just like Jetpack Joyride. Actually, the reason it's free is because it's just the lite version. Oddly, though, the full version is not yet available. Either way, Propeller Dog appears adequate enough as it is in providing casual entertainment on your iPhone or iPad.
Propeller Dog: Attack of the Evil Squirrels follows the tall tale of a dog on a biplane and a band of villainous squirrels. These squirrels have flown out of nowhere and into the dog's neighborhood, where they're hell-bent on wreaking havoc. It's now up to you to control Propeller Dog as he attempts to fend off the attacking evil squirrels. Watch the game trailer below.

The primary control method in Propeller Dog is typical of today's crop of casual games, including Whale Trail and Sir Benfro's Brilliant Balloon. Simply tap on the screen with a finger to make Propeller Dog fly and release to let gravity do its thing. If there's a new type of control that is used in Propeller Dog, it's the two-finger tap that makes the plane flip and dodge oncoming squirrels and the occasional boots and meteors. Propeller Dog has limited fuel, so collecting fuel power-ups along the way is necessary. There's also the balloon power-up that shoots squirrels with water balloons. Oh, and as in Jetpack Joyride, there are collectible coins galore, too.
The full version is coming soon, promising new locations and power-ups, but the lite version of Propeller Dog is available now in the App Store for free. Ready… Set… Arfff!
