So according to the rumors, Apple is set to start the production of the new MacBook’s in April, and according to a recent report by Digitimes, the production will begin with the newly design 15” MacBook Pros in April followed by redesigned 13” models in June. For those wondering about the redesign, rumor has it that Apple could be adopting the MacBook Air’s design for their new series of MacBook Pro laptops, resulting in thinner models.

The 15” MacBook Pros will be seeing initial monthly shipments of 200,000 units, while its smaller 13” sibling will reportedly see larger shipments of 300,000-400,000 units per month. It seems a little odd that Apple is refreshing one model at a time, but Digitimes’ track record has been pretty spotty so far, so we wouldn’t exactly be betting the bank on their information. The new MacBook Pros are also expected to feature Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge chipset such as the Core i7-3720QM and the Core i7-3820QM.

While there has been no word regarding the 17” MacBook Pro model, it has been speculated in the past that only the 13” and 15” models are expected to undergo a redesign while the 17” model will retain its current dimensions. Once again, we suggest you take this with a grain of salt until an official announcement has been made.
