Gorilla Smash ($0.99) by Asylum Creatures puts you in the role of one mad gorilla bouncer. It seems the customers are getting too rowdy at the bar, throwing everything from furniture to jugs of booze.
What’s a gorilla to do? Use his trusty mace, of course!
Swing the mace by dragging your finger in a circular pattern around the mace’s handle.
This is very similar to swinging Thor’s hammer in the Marvel KAPOW! app. The mace's force intensifies the faster you swing. Use too little force, and all of the flying debris will take the wind out of your sail.
Three modes of play are available, including classic, survival, and relax. These modes make the game reminiscent of Fruit Ninja.
As if that wasn’t enough, you can also unlock different backgrounds and maces by scoring a certain number of points or smashing a certain number of specified objects. This game will definitely give your finger a workout. I noticed that swinging like crazy was easy enough once the game started, but then became a test of endurance as the furniture started piling up.
Swinging the mace isn’t as hard if you’re able to stay on top of the clutter.
Crazy bonuses become available the more you smash the objects. The bonuses will apply some sort of temporary effect on the gameplay, such as zero gravity or flail hail madness.
While the mace behaves exactly as Thor’s hammer does, the hammer has a much smaller turning radius. It doesn’t take long to spin up to speed, and it dense enough to still put a hurting on the baddies.
The small handle, long length of chain, and heavy head all make the mace a powerful weapon that takes a powerful amount of energy to wield.
The humor and challenging gameplay may make some gamers go bananas to get their paws on this game. It also has a rocking bagpipe soundtrack.
