There are lots of options out there for quickly sharing files, blocks of text, screenshots, and the like, but several of us at The Verge are big fans of Droplr. It’s a great free service, giving you 1GB of storage and allowing uploads up to 25MB in size, but if you’re a heavy user you’ve no doubt run into these limits. Well, today Droplr is announcing Droplr Pro, giving you 1GB uploads and 100GB of storage for introductory pricing of just $3 a month or $30 a year. If you don’t need to keep folders synced on multiple devices, the price undercuts everyone in our cloud storage faceoff at the 100GB tier — for comparison, 100GB of Google Drive storage will run you $4.99 a month, and the same amount of storage at Dropbox will set you back $19.99 a month or $199.00 a year. It's also very competitive with CloudApp Pro, which offers "unlimited" storage, but only 250MB file uploads, for $5 a month or $45 a year.
In addition to bigger "drops" (uploads) and more storage, Droplr Pro also gives you access to some other great features, including statistics about who is downloading your shared files, an ad-free experience, custom domains, and private, password-protected drops. Droplr isn’t a syncing solution, and doesn’t give you the same kind of hierarchical folder system that many rely on with services like Dropbox, but it is fast and light, the files you upload are searchable, the iPhone app is great, and the automatic addition of public links to your clipboard makes it perfect for quickly throwing a file to someone.
