Storify For iPad Fortifies Its Facebook Photo Albums Integration

May 12, 2012
When Storify for iPad was launched last February, I was quite impressed with its design and execution. Even in its initial form, it managed to perform quite well. Its simple drag-and-drop mechanism turned out to be an effortless solution for the app's underlying purpose. As well, its integration with a few of the most popular social networks today proved more than decent. Yet, being just an initial version, it still had some polishing to go through if it were to be a really good app. There's still room for improvement. Fortunately, measures such as the ones brought by a recent update to the app seek to reduce the size of that room. Storify for iPad is, of course, the official iOS app of Storify. Storify is so named because of its main intent of enabling users to create coherent and worthwhile stories out of different elements from different social networks and other types of sources on the Web. In a nutshell, it aims to "storify" the Web. More often than not, Facebook and Twitter figure in the stories that come out of Storify. This is perhaps why the latest update to the app addresses a couple of issues related to the two social networking giants. In our review of the app shortly after its release, we lamented the fact that you could select images on Facebook only from the "Photos of You" album. The update remedies this snag by allowing you to also select images from all your Facebook photo albums. Now it's easier to create a story about a party you attended using your own party-rockin' photos on Facebook. In addition, the update also makes links, hashtags, and Twitter usernames in story elements selectable. It's something the app should've supported from the get-go, and hence a welcome addition. Designed for the drag-and-drop-friendly iPad, Storify is available in the App Store for free. Have you storified anything interesting lately?
