Flying can bring out a fair amount of anxiety in anyone. Checking to see if the airplane arrives on time, wondering if loved ones are safe and even making a connecting flight are all issues that cause people to frantically scour the internet for details to soothe their fears.

Flight+ is a travel app that is unlike others in the App Store because it provides users with more than just detailed flight information. From gate information, weather forecasts and detailed seat maps to real-time flight tracking, there’s no need to worry about flying ever again.

Reminiscent of Apple’s Reminders, the layout and interface are both appealing and easy-to-use. The navigation bar at the bottom helps users explore all the categories, while the intuitive swipe gestures make it easy to navigate. It all may look overwhelming at first, but users will quickly adapt after taking a few minutes to explore all its features.

With data for more than 16,000 airports, Flight+ is quite the gem for users who travel frequently. Searching and adding a flight is easy as pie. Tap the plus button and enter as many details as possible. The app then searches through the flight database to pull up relevant information about flights that are organized by scheduled, en route and past flights. Users can even link their TripIt account to import all their flights directly into the app, which is a great time-saver.

One of the neatest features is the option to share flight details and information via email, Facebook, text message and Twitter. Users can even sync the app with their Calendar and add personal notes to flights. However, Flight+ doesn’t offer iCloud sync for flights which is a letdown for those who use utilize it.

There are a couple of other disappointment with Flight+. The first is that there is no universal app. The iPad and iPhone versions are sold separately so users with these devices must purchase both apps. The iPad version does have a slightly different interface that takes advantage of the larger screen, but it doesn’t appear that there is much difference between the two. The second is that there isn’t a convenient way to locate alternate flights within the app.

In a nutshell, Flight+ is a well-designed travel app that is perfect for those who fly frequently. The option to schedule reminders and alerts in addition to all the other features gives it an edge over all the competitors. I recommend Flight+ to anyone looking for a comprehensive flight app that goes the extra mile to help keep flyers’ minds at ease.
