Apple's Back to School Offer Stinks Again This Year

Amidst the WWDC doodiestorm this morning, MacRumors and 9to5mac are reporting in that Apple's back to school deal this year is the familiar $100 gift certificate to iTunes and the App Store with the purchase of a Mac, and a new $50 card when you buy an iPad. The cards are in addition to the year-round student discount on Apple products.

The change from the old free iPod back to school offer totally stunk, but if we're stuck with an "offer" to dump more cash into Apple's closed ecosystem, at least we get it with the iPad now too. Which is something? Sort of? Sigh. Regardless, the shoddy deal will reportedly kick in Monday. [MacRumors, 9to5mac]
