Gameloft’s Asphalt series has been one of the most successful racing titles on iOS, and its latest addition promises to the “newest, fastest, most visually stunning” edition yet. It’s called Asphalt 7: Heat and it’s available today on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for just $0.99.
For that you get the chance to race over 60 cars — including a DeLorean! — over 15 tracks, in both single and multiplayer game modes.
Asphalt 7 features cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin; and tracks based in Hawaii, Paris, London, Miami, and Rio — all of which look incredible thanks to the effort Gameloft has put in to its high-definition graphics optimized for the Retina display.
“Every car and track is more beautiful than ever thanks to graphics that push the limits of your device and the Retina display,” Gameloft says.
There are six different game modes to enjoy, with 15 leagues and over 150 different races. The new multiplayer modes allow you to take on up to five friends — locally and online — and keep track of your stats using the new Asphalt Tracker. If you don’t have any friends to compete against, the new matchmaking system will take care of that for you.
Asphalt 7: Heat is priced at just $0.99, and it’s a universal app, so you only have to pay that once. That’s a bargain for a game of this caliber. Sure, there are some additional in-app purchases you can choose to pick up, but these aren’t necessary to enjoy this title.
