Apple Releases iOS 6 Beta 2 to Developers

Apple released iOS 6 beta 2 to developers on Tuesday. The new version’s description, “This beta version of iOS 6 contains bug fixes and improvements,” and the detailed patch notes for the iOS 6 software development kit (SDK) include a host of bug fixes, with no new features or major changes.

iOS 6 was introduced at Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference on June 11th, and the first beta was introduced at that time. iOS 6 includes a new Apple-branded mapping service called Apple Maps (as well as a new Maps app for iPhone and iPad), new Game Center features, new Siri features, new iCloud capabilities, and more.

iOS 6 beta 2 is available to registered developers, and can be downloaded from Apple’s Developer Connection site. If you have iOS 6 installed on your iPhone or iPad, you can update from within your device.

The final version is expected to be released later in 2012.
