Global spending on information technology may grow at a 3 percent pace, faster than previously forecast, to $3.6 trillion this year as expenditures for public cloud services increase, Gartner Inc. said.

The estimate compares with Gartner’s projection last quarter of 2.5 percent growth, the Stamford, Connecticut-based researcher said in a report today. Spending on public cloud services may rise to $109 billion from $91 billion last year, Gartner said.
