Lindsey Software Announces the Release of the Section 8 Inspections System for the iPad® and iPhone® Platforms
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindsey Software announces the release of the company's second generation of mobile computing utilizing Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices. The Section 8 HQS App offers clients the flexibility to perform on-site housing inspections using the Apple platform devices.
"Lindsey Software clients will now be able to store their inspection data on their mobile devices and update this information as needed through a wireless synchronization process. This is a great tool as it saves our clients money on costly data plans and allows them to benefit from mobile apps in rural areas with intermittent cell service," said John Lindsey, CEO.
Lindsey Software clients are enjoying the ease of use of the Apple devices in addition to the built-in camera, location tracking, and maps. Ada Diaz, Assistant Section 8 Director for the Hialeah, FL Housing Authority, said their Inspections team loves the iPad system. "Our Inspectors wouldn't go back to their old devices now if we paid them," she stated.
Diaz also advised the iPad technology is helping the Inspections Department comply with another direction the Housing Authority is moving towards, which is going paperless. The Inspections team is taking advantage of the new technology to reduce printing inspection photos due to ease of information access in the Lindsey Software Inspections System.
Rafael Villrejo, an Inspector at Hialeah, said that the iPad is "working really well" and is a positive move forward for the organization.
Jim Coleman, Executive Director of the Camden, AR Housing Authority, stated that he is excited about the new addition to the Housing Authority's technology. "The Camden Housing Authority has been a client of Lindsey and Company for over 40 years and began using their software when it first became available for our industry. We have found their products to be very user-friendly and have provided us with the tools to work in the computer mandated business world. As the first users of the new iPad system, we now have the newest technology in order to accomplish our goals in a program that includes the addition of three new counties to our Section 8 workload."
Terri McDonald, HCD Coordinator for the Searcy, AR Housing Authority, said the iPad Inspections App is "user-friendly and less time consuming" than the way she was previously performing inspections. "It cuts my tasks in half!"
Lindsey is pleased with client responses to the new mobile platforms. "We're very happy about the great feedback we've received from our users. This encourages us to move forward to offer even more functionality for Apple devices."
Lindsey Software plans to offer more iPad apps in the future. For more information about Lindsey Software's Section 8 HQS App, visit www.lindseysoftware.com.
