Tip of the Week: Making a Stickie, Quickly

The Stickies application for making virtual Post-It notes on the Mac OS X desktop is a great way to store little bits of information in plain sight. But if copying and pasting text into an open note seems too slow, a keyboard shortcut that works in programs like Safari can speed things up. Just select the text from the Web page or document on the screen and press Shift-Command-Y to pop the selected text into its own new Stickie note. Pressing Option-Command-F on a selected note makes it float above all the other open windows.
