Accellion Mobile Apps update tightens security

By

Security is the theme of the latest version of Accellion Mobile Apps.

Accellion Mobile Apps provides the ability to securely view and collaborate on more than 200 file types.

Available for iOS, BlackBerry and Android devices, the software supports online and offline use.

The latest version features FIPS 140-2 certification, granular control over user privileges, security throughout the loop from logging in to uploading an edited file, and password-protection to ensure only the owner of a device can access the local files.

It also provides the choice of public, private or hybrid cloud connections, and remote monitoring and logging of usage.

"While mobile collaboration is allowing organisations to significantly improve productivity, many solutions in the market are creating security issues that could expose users to data leakage and compliance challenges," said Yorgen Edholm, president and CEO of Accellion.

"Other offerings sacrifice protection for market entry. We provide our customers with a secure mobile app business users can use from wherever and whenever with confidence."
