Microsoft posts another Xbox 720 job ad

There is yet another blurb coming through official Microsoft channels about the next version of the Xbox.

On its website, the company is looking for a Software Development Engineer for its Interactive Entertainment Business, which encompasses the Xbox platform.

The job listing contains lofty language about needing someone to help usher in a new advancement for the company, saying that “the best is yet to come.”

The ad reads, “Do you want to work on the future of Natural User Input as a member of the team that *shipped* Kinect for the Xbox 360? Do you have strong research skills and are passionate about engineering and product development?”

Recent leaks about the new Xbox show that the console will have “Kinect v2” built directly into the console, so there will be no need for an extra peripheral.

Among the enhancements referenced are the ability to track four players simultaneously, stronger integration with other devices like the PC and Windows Phone, and just all-around more powerful performance.

Another interesting thing mentioned in the leak is a project Microsoft is reportedly working on, called Kinect Glasses, which has hints of Google’s Project Glass in it.

Few solid details are laid out, but it looks like they’ll both enhance your core experience with the Xbox 720, and can be used on-the-go as well.

This current generation of consoles is breaking all the rules because of the “future-proof” mechanisms built into the Xbox 360 and PS3, so the next round of consoles will be even more fascinating to watch.
