Blizzard patches Diablo III Wizard "God Mode" exploit

Blizzard has rolled out a another Diablo III hotfix – effectively eliminating a “God Mode” exploit that made Wizard-class players invincible.



The exploit, identified earlier this week, sparked concern among players that God Mode would offer an unfair advantage to those collecting and selling lucrative in-game items at the real-money auction house.





The July 26th hotfix also addresses a health regeneration bug that occasionally affects barbarians when using Furious Charge.

Previous Diablo III hot patches released by Blizzard on July 3rd corrected a number of glitches, including game/service crashes as well as a bug that allowed players to earn additional stacks of Nephalem Valor, or guaranteed item drops by killing multiple monsters simultaneously from the same Champion or Rare pack.

The long-awaited Diablo III went live on May 15, 2012 and was immediately plagued by server downtime due to overwhelming demand. 



Nevertheless, Blizzard has done its best to address various complaints – including initial limitations placed on players – by coding a series of hot patches based on user feedback.

“We’ve had an enormous amount of feedback since the launch. I speak for everyone at Blizzard when I say that we appreciate the passion and affection many of you have for the Diablo series,” Blizzard president Mike Morhaime wrote in an official forum post last week.

“We truly believe ‘Every Voice Matters,’ so I want to thank you for sharing your experiences in an effort to help us improve the game. Your support makes it possible for us to continue doing what we do, and we never take that for granted.”
