New features of the TomTom app for iOS provides the ability to copy and paste addresses from other apps such as the Safari web browser as the destination.
Similarly, foursquare integration provides for navigation to favourite foursquare places, with check-in on arrival.
"Drivers now have new ways to find places with their TomTom app," says Chris Kearney, TomTom's vice president marketing Asia Pacific.
"This should be particularly helpful when people are off on holidays and day trips.
"They can find great places to visit and get there fast with foursquare or a quick copy-paste, and that leaves more time to relax and have fun."
Various improvements to the app's user interface have also been made.
The update is free of charge to existing users. The app costs $74.99.
