EA Says Madden 13 Sells 900,000 Units in First 24 Hours

Electronics Arts today said that Madden NFL 13, the latest edition of the company's long-standing football video game franchise, sold 900,000 units in the first 24 hours on the market, up 7% from sales a year ago for the first day of Madden 12.

The company said it also set a record for one-day online usage, with a 28% jump in Day One peak simultaneous users.

The game is offered in versions for the Xbox 360, PlayStaton 3, Wii and PlayStation Vita. The game is priced at $59.99 for the Xbox and PlayStation versions, $49.99 for the Wii and $39.99 for the Vita.

EA today is up 17 cents, or 1.3%, to $13.02.
