Picture Me Something is a new app developed by Bodychef Ltd. While the graphics are chintzy and derivative of Draw Something and other popular and more polished apps, Picture Me Something is innovative and interesting.

Picture Me Something encourages me to connect with my Facebook friends and friend lists. I open up a menu in the app that prompts me to tag and quiz my Facebook friends using my own photos. Using standard Facebook formatting, I can take a photo or choose from a photo already on my iPad or iPhone. Selecting the photo, I can label it with a description.

To test, I send a photo to my sister of my dog with the description: “Your Nephew.” Of course, this won’t be difficult in the least for her to guess correctly, but I like the idea that Picture Me Something offers this particular feature and encourages me to play a unique, individualized guessing game.

Picture Me Something allows me to engage my Facebook friends via my personal photo stash as I welcome them into an interactive game with pretty endless possibilities. I select a photo and place it under the following header options: “Who Is This?”, “What Is This?”, “Where Is This?”, or “Remember This?” Sending a vacation photo to my husband with the description, “Where Is This?” is a fun way to connect and remember a nice time we shared.

Picture Me Something is great fun and even addictive on a rudimentary level. It plugs in and complements the overall concept of social media. Picture Me Something works similarly to Facebook, so there’s really no learning curve involved. Facebook fans will find the app easy to access and use. The app interface, although cheaply rendered, is designed well in terms of functionality. For $0.99, I can “Go Pro” and receive "unlimited film" with “no ads.” The ads in the free version of the app are the usual pop-ups that do little to interfere with its overall function.

Picture Me Something is not at all glitchy in my experience, and finding friends on Facebook who might relish a laugh at a goofy middle school photo of the two of us is guiltlessly pleasurable.

Picture Me Something is a useful and addictive app that requires no time to learn new tricks. Its interface and design are functional, friendly, and inviting. Routine Facebook users will find that putting their daily Facebook practice into Picture Me Something's intuitive features is a seamless and pleasing way to deepen their virtual connections.
