iPhone fever hits NY again!

iFever has hit the Big Apple!

Pre-orders for the hot iPhone 5 sold out in just 60 minutes yesterday — and some New Yorkers have already started to camp outside the city’s flagship Apple store to get their hands on the new gadget when it hits the shelves next Friday.

“I don’t have to shower or change clothes,” said software developer Hazem Sayed, who has been camped outside Apple’s Fifth Avenue store since Wednesday.

Online demand for Apple’s sleeker, thinner and lighter new device was so great yesterday that it will now take the tech giant at least two weeks to ship new orders — instead of the promised Sept. 21 arrival date, when the iPhone goes on sale at its brick-and-mortar outlets.

Craigslist, meanwhile, was already abuzz with folks who pre-ordered the iPhone 5 and were trying to flip them for some quick cash.

Prices were hovering at or near a whopping $1,000 for the 16GB model.
