With a wide variety of business and productivity iPad apps available, there’s usually one out of the thousands that caters to exactly what users need. Minutes App is one of these apps. It’s not loaded with too many features, but it has the exact organization tools that make it an effective iPad solution.

Minutes App is all about meetings. It’s designed to manage time, organize information, track actions and much more. Its goal is simply to improve meetings and make every minute count.

The interface is clean, organized and intuitive. Once Minutes App is launched, an quick introduction screen helps users get started immediately. There’s a place to select or create a note, a section to add attendants, a private preparation space, a section for notes from the meeting and even a follow up actions location.

When a new Minute is created, users must type in the title of the meeting so that they can quickly reference it later. There’s a space to add the location, start and end date as well as the time for those who like to stay organized. Attendants can then be added with the touch of a plus button. Users can add people who aren’t in their address book or the app will automatically pull up the contacts as they are typed.

The preparation space is designed to help users write down goals and side notes that are personal. This information won’t be shared with anyone else so it’s a great way to jot down ideas and objectives before a meeting begins. The space under that is where users write their notes from the meeting. Once the notes are complete, there’s a section to include follow up actions where users can assign tasks to attendants. After everything is complete, just tap on Send Minutes to email everyone.

There are even more features to love about this app like calendar and contact integration, threaded recurrent meetings, meeting lists grouped by date, a timer to keep meetings on track and OmniFocus integration that allows users to export actions.

The only feature that would improve Minutes App is an option to customize the notes area. I’d love to add bullets, numbered lists and even italicize or bold important words to emphasize sections. I’m curious to see what’s in store for the future versions of this app.

In summary, Minutes App is an effective meeting app that’s perfect for writing quick notes, creating plans, organizing meetings and managing tasks. There are many features rolled into the app, yet the developers were able to keep the interface clean and organized. This is one productivity app that I highly recommend for anyone who attends or plans their fair share of meetings throughout the year.
