Burrito Bison is an iOS port of a series that involves launching a Mexican wrestling bison as far as possible. As the macho bison flies through the air, he squishes a variety of gummy bears along the way in order to gain more speed to smash through doors and escape Candy Land.

Players begin at the same checkpoint at the start of each game. The bison is strapped to an elastic band and ready to fly high, but gamers determine his speed by watching the spinning wheel carefully. Tapping the wheel when it’s close to the gold star at the top results in maximum speed. Lucky gamers may hit it dead on and send the bison flying to new heights.

In order for the beefed up bison to continue moving, he must land on as many gummy bears as possible. There are many types of gummy bears that have special powers. For instance, the orange ones make the bison jump high, whereas as the green ones earn the most cash. Smashing a gummy bear earns money, which can be used in the shop to buy power-ups. When the bison starts to come to a stop, use the rockets to help him bounce farther. Once he loses his momentum, it’s time to play all over again.

The shop allows gamers to upgrade the gummy bears as well as the Bison’s abilities. It’s possible to enhance rocket boosts, the launch elasticity and the bison’s speed as well as increase you chances of encountering gummies with special powers.

The graphics in Burrito Bison are just pure awesome. I love the style of this game. There’s a lot of detail put into the artwork, and everything is colorful and bright. It’s truly a creative and quirky game that’s hard to resist playing.

Although it's initially hard to put this game down, there is some room for improvement when it comes to increasing the replay value. It’s possible to beat it in 2 hours, and then there’s really not much else going for it once the finish line is reached. It could really use more modes like endless and boss stages. Also, I was disappointed to find out that it doesn’t have any leaderboards, and there are only eight Game Center achievements. Money is the only objective in this game as there’s no score or total distance launched to beat.

There’s a lot of grinding involved, but Burrito Bison is fun while it lasts. It has a lot of potential to be a better game, so let’s hope for a future update. For now, it’s worth the dollar if gamers are looking for something zany and addicting to play for a few hours.
