New In iOS 6: Create An Email Signature With Custom Clickable Links

October 14, 2012
Whether you’re new to iOS, or just want to pick up some useful tips and tricks, we're here to help. This is iOS Advice. Email signatures are a great way to provide your contact information below every email you send. Signatures can also promote a brand and link to different social networks or a website. Now that we have the ability to create signatures for each email account, let’s learn how to customize them. Thanks to iOS 6, we can now create HTML signatures with custom clickable links. If you’d like to customize your signature, watch the video or follow the steps below: Step 1: You must create an email signature in a desktop or Web based client. (Watch the video for an example.) Step 2: Send a message from your email client to your iOS device that includes your signature. Next, open the email on your iOS device. Select and copy the signature from the message, then exit the Mail app. Step 3: Go into the Settings app on your device. Next, scroll down to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and tap on it. Step 4: Under the “Mail” section towards the lower half of the screen, tap on the row labeled “Signature.” Find the signature box you’d like to edit and tap on it, then paste the signature that was copied in step two. You should now see your custom links in the signature box. If you’d like to test these links, send yourself an email from the account that uses this signature. When you open the email, you should be able to click on the custom links you've created. Now that you’ve learned how to create HTML signatures, if there’s something else you’d like to see on iOS Advice, please let us know.
